ROOM 13 – Update

Richard Carmen, Jason William Pead, Aria Elf and Marco Scaringi of ROOM 13

“This is the time that nothing happens…. but there are things happening… the Editor Aria is sitting in a dark room crouched over a flickering screen trying to find one delicate take for a scene where we crossed the line more often than a mexican drug cartel, or where the reverses had a problem. That stuff happens at the end of long days. We feed Aria three times a day and let her walk the compound for 5 minutes every 4 hours. She says very little but we know she is alive because we sometimes here a distant “shit” spoken by her trembling, bite marked tongue.”   – My Guess Is That This Was Written By Paul Eenhoorn

It’s a Wrap!

 Room 13 completes its shoot.

Editor:  They got the funding; they got the crew; they got the location; and they shot the thing.  An enormous amount of effort pays off!

“We wrapped late last night on Room 13 after a 17 hour day. Amazing crew. Awesome cast. Congrats to Paul Eenhoornon his directorial debut. This is going to be a great film.”  – Marco Scaringi

“After an amazing weekend on the ROOM 13 set, I just want to send a special thank-you to Paul Eenhoorn and Diana SirLouis for making it possible, to Trin Miller and Ernie Joseph for making the characters real, to Ross and Andrew Harrison for making it all look so beautiful, Robyn Scaringi and Samantha Jensen for keeping the shots properly organized, numbered and backed up… I am a very happy editor!” -Aria Elf

“‎1st day of shooting on Paul Eenhoorns Room 13. Great crew, amazing cast, and a smooth day, all told. Thanks to everyone who came out and “camped” for the day in our hotel location. And, I got a new title. “Scar test body double” IMDB, here I come!”  – Will Chase / Producer

ROOM 13 – Production Update!

When no FX makeup artist was available on short notice for ROOM 13, Aria Elf created this burn torture scar herself. Not bad for her first time.

Q:  Did she draw on her painting experience to do this?

Aria Elf, ROOM 13 Editor responds:  “Since oils and the substances I was using didn’t have the same properties at all, and felt very different on the brushes. Even the brushes were different. And then people move and breathe and get hot or itchy, unlike canvases that can sit still…forever! so a belly application especially was tricky. But just being trained as a visual artist helped with matching skin tone, blending and imagining a visual idea and being able to implement it,” she answered.

Remark: “My god, you’re an artist!”

A:  “Well, to be fair I do have a degree in oil painting, so it’s not the first time I’ve used a brush or anything… just… latex on a person! Laugh 🙂

The word is out!  our own Jorj  has been cast in another play.  This time it’s JACK AND THE SEAHORSE MOON, written by John Ruoff.  The word is – (and as it appears) – Jorj just can’t turn down acting opposite a beautiful woman.  I, like, TOTALLY understand….   For more complete information, go to: www.warptheater.org

Room 13 Update

“Last night we had a table read of ROOM 13 with the actors and covered some ground on some more character development and shots. It was good to hear the dialogue, what worked and what need to be reworked. We don’t have a scipt lock yet but we are getting close to a final. Next is setting up our production protocols with the help of Will Chase Allen Esparza Ross Hotchkiss and his crew.” – Paul Eenhorn

Room 13 – a Film

acquires funding, production starts

Paul Eenhoorn Writer/Director

You heard the pitch right here!  Now follow the production as we pass the first read-through and have acquired a firm location.

“We are having a location meeting this Sunday at 4 pm. Hopefully we can all get a handle on what’s required on each Room.

Wednesday we are having a read through rehearsal with the actors.

Looks like we have a Pizza supplier so that’s taken care of. The location is truly superior to our first choice. That’s serendipity I guess.”  – communique

FRYING SAUCERS

In case you’ve been wondering, ‘what’s the hold-up on the postings’?  Your editor, besides becoming a proud father, is also directing/shooting/editing a short movie written by Scot Bastian called Frying Saucers.  …It’s the deep South on a hot day.  BOB comes by to have a talk with his friend SLIM regarding some thoughts he’s been having, concerning, “Patterns.  Patterns which explain a few things.” …Mystery seems to have enveloped the small Southern town of Colby Junction.  We had a good response to both stage productions.  So we thought we’d try our chances with this short movie.

Scot Bastain plays BOB and Jorj Savage plays SLIM.

P. S.  Rita is still plugging along.

Slim struggles to get his mind around what Bob is saying.

"I've come across a few patterns. Patterns which explain a few things."

"Whatever it takes!"

Celebrated Actor to Produce Movie Here!

Paul Eenhoorn has scripted an independent movie soon to be shot in Seattle.  This celebrated Seattle actor, who plays the role of ‘Pops’ in the recently produced for TV pilot, The Divine Marigolds, has already assembled crew and backers for the shoot.  And Paul plans also to direct the feature, currently titled ROOM 13.   What’s it about?  In Paul’s words: “I can only describe it as a dance.  It’s about what happens to people who introduce a piece or a story about themselves that is captivating, and sad.”  To hear more about Paul, click on our exclusive Seattle Celebrity News! interview with Paul Eenhoorn posted HERE, last year.

If you would like to become somehow involved in a movie production, (without having to move to Hollywood and smooze smug, sleazy, morally bankrupt producers and end up taking drugs and stuff and/or humiliating/debasing/selling your lovely flesh, (too cheaply, I’m sure!…) go to: http://www.indiegogo.com/ROOM-13-A-Short-Film   Backers are always welcome.  Helpers are often welcome.  Hangers on are sometimes welcome.  (Could depend upon how well you hang.  (I said that, not Paul.)  Give it a shot.  Whatever, you’ll like Paul I’m sure. – Editor
