A Wedding Is a Crowd

A Wedding Is a Crowd

A wedding is a crowd.  Why is this?  They seem to gather…

a stream of people swirling under the bubbles of the bride’s laughter.

Watch their movements, flowing as if in a current,

clotted at areas of interest and in knots of conversation,

thinning before the bridal procession and thickening after

with eddies and backwash, and floating bouquets.

The wedding veil swirls among them like a leaf on a stream.
